We believe that the best way to clean your patio or driveway effectively is by using a pressure washer. This helps to deep clean the stones, concrete, bricks or paving slabs quickly and effectively, leaving them looking like new. It also helps to get rid of growths like algae, moss and lichen, which can affect the way your patio looks, as well as make it slippery to walk on. 

We use the Whirl-Away Pressure Cleaning system, which is suitable for both hard and soft surfaces – meaning it can be used on your decking too. This high-pressure cleaning system is incredibly effective and will leave your space looking like new.    

It is definitely ok to wash patios with a power or pressure washer. However, we do suggest getting a professional to do it. Washing your patio incorrectly can result in damage, especially if your patio isn’t in the best shape to start with.

You can clean your patio and driveway without a pressure washer, but it will take a lot longer and you’re unlikely to get as good results. 

The best way to clean your patio without a pressure washer is to give it a good brush to get rid of loose debris. You can then pour water with dish soap over small sections and give them a hard brush to get rid of more ingrained dirt. You should then rinse away the dirty water, taking care to ensure it drains away somewhere that won’t impact your garden. 

This is a good way to maintain the look of your patio, but pressure washing will get better and faster results. Plus, if you call us in to do the job, you save yourself a lot of hard work!

As well as weeds growing in between your patio slabs, algae can easily start spreading over your patio, driveway and decking. This can give it a green tinge, as well as making the surface slippery to walk on, especially when wet. 

Our pressure washing system will get rid of the algae, as well as moss, lichen and other plants that might start growing over your patio. Over time, these can come back though, so it’s a good idea to weed your patio and call us back in if you notice your patio is going green again.

Sealing your driveway is entirely up to you. Sealing your driveway or patio can help it stay looking good for a longer period of time, as it helps stop water from getting into the pores of the concrete, which can cause cracks over time. It also helps avoid stains from setting on the surface, which can be harder to clean if left for a while. 

However, if you have a large driveway or patio, sealing can be expensive – especially as it will need to be re-done every two to three years. You can keep your driveway and patio looking great with some simple maintenance and a deep clean at least once a year.
